K2 Typical RX Performance Numbers

4/23/99

Here are K2 receive performance numbers and several ARRL rig test results for comparison. We followed the ARRL Test Procedures Manual, and our lab test setup was correlated with the ARRL test results by testing several commercial rigs (TS-50, TS950-SD) on the same setup and comparing the results to the ARRL numbers.

These are preliminary results and may vary a few DB from rig to rig. These numbers are for 14Mhz operation, 500Hz CW filter, AGC off, High Ip mode.

XX/YY = preamp-on/preamp-off results

nl = test was noise limited (noise floor rose 1db before 1db of blocking desense occurred)

MDS = Minimum Discernible Signal (3db increase above noise floor)

IMDDR3 = 2 tone (20 kHz spacing) 3rd order Dynamic Range

Ip3 = 2 tone (20 kHz spacing) 3rd order Intercept Point

Ip2 = 2 tone (8.020MHz, 6.000MHz) 2rd order Intercept Point

BDR = Blocking Dynamic Range (20 kHz spacing)

ARRL Results are from QST rig reviews (Scout, 12/93; Omni6+, 11/97; FT1000MP, 4/96; TS-50, 9/93; SGC-2020, 10/98)
