There is nothing unique about the design of this transmitter. The transmitter puts out between four and five watts on 40 meters. The PI-network's coil consists of 15 1/2 turns of #22 enameled wire close wound on a 1 1/2 inch diameter form. The variable capacitors were salvaged from junker S-38s and the tuning is quite touchy. A homebrew power supply using a 6X5 provides 220 volts DC.
