WELCOME TO THE SALINE COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

Saline County, Arkansas

Welcome to the Saline County Amateur Radio Club WWW Home Page.
We're Glad you took the time to check us out.

This is the amateur radio club of Saline County Arkansas. We are still growing each year currently with over fifty members. Our current constitution dates back to our incorporation in 1971.
Our members are active in all areas of Ham Radio from building Amateur Radio equipment to communicating with astronauts in outter space.

Most of the club members are trained Severe Weather Spotters. As part of operation SKYWARN they report severe weather conditions directly to meteorologist at the National Weather Service (NWS) assisting them with the issuing of warnings. Our activities have been credited with saving countless lives and property.

Our club is not just earth bound.  We have club members who are conducting SERAX and AMSAT (Amateur Satelite) communications.  These members are conducting communications through the space shuttle, MIR space lab and amateur satellites.

We are a public service and community minded club. Providing support throughout the entire community. Each year we provide a Thanksgiving dinner to the elderly residents of the Whispering Pines Adult Service Complex. Additionally, we provide communications during special events like Muscular Dystrophy Bike Race, The Clean Air Challange and others.

Additionally, the Saline County Amateur Radio Club maintains the 146.04 / 146.64 repeater. This organization is always ready to provide assistance to the community at any time.

The Saline County Amateur Radio Club meets at the Whispering Pines Complex the second Monday of each month at 7:30 pm. All ham radio operators and especially visitors are welcome. Hope to see you there.
