JULY 4th, 2008 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA!!!
...the Land of the Free and the home of the Brave... These words are quoted
from Francis Scott Key's "The Star Spangled Banner", a song that should be
well known to each and every American, regardless of age.
The following video is a 1942 Movietone Newsreel as shown in many theatres
during WW II and features 'The Star Spangled Banner' as sung by Fred Waring
and The Pennsylvanians Orchestra with actual WWII film views...when Americans
were again fighting for their Freedom. Click on arrow to play.
July 4th is a day of patriotic celebration with parades, family gatherings
and backyard picnics..as celebrated by Americans for almost 232 years...in
the Spirit of Freedom and usually climaxed by a night-time fireworks display.
But the celebration of July 4th is also a day to remember that FREEDOM is
not FREE. It is the combination of hard work, determination and sacrifice
by all America's citizens to allow us this Freedom every day.
To America's fighting men and women, veterans and today's soldiers..we need
to support and thank them for everything they do. And as each day passes,
more of America's Greatest Generation answer their 'final call' to duty.
In recognition of America's willingness to Fight for our Freedom, another
song has become symbolic of America, her citizens and her soldiers.
The following video is a moving rendition of THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC
with film footage excerpts of America's Military in World War II. Click on

On July 4th, above our farm home in Bloomsbury, NJ will be flying
the American Flag received from our friend and toy train buddy, US NAVY Seabee...Lance
Pruknal. This Flag flew over an American Military Base in Iraq during the
recent Gulf War and we are honored to fly it again here over American soil
on America's birthday.
At the suggestion of one of RMT's customers, any Celebration of July 4th would
not be complete without a stirring rendition of "AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL"...and
I agree. Enjoy! Click on arrow to play.
And not to be forgotten, but as a fitting finale to this July 4th
Tribute, is the very well known "GOD BLESS AMERICA" as sung by Kate Smith
with music by Irving Berlin and his orchestra. Click on arrow to play.
