GRID & FIELD MAPS

Thanks to Roger Hedin, SM3GSJ, for his wonderful freeware great circle map creater GCM (A MUST HAVE) and to Bob, K1SIX, for the idea of another way to use it. The European grid map is color-coded per opening to assist in determining the spread of Es events. Grids worked on F2 appear in yellow. For practical reasons in most cases grids reworked on F2 only display Es coloration.
Get GCM from Roger's Website here. Amongst the other things you can do with this valuable program, generated maps can be saved as bitmap files and altered in MSpaint any way you like. You can also quickly determine great circle azimuths from any other location of the world. There is simply too much more to list, so get it and try it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.
Check out Bob's great VHF page here. If you are a beginner on the band it may be a little overwhelming ("...what the heck is a Kp index and what does it have to do with working DX on 6 meters anyway...?") but hang in there and explore it. Many useful links & other interesting stuff. What was it they said in school about osmosis...? BTW, if you are using Internet Explorer 6.0 or better, enlarge the maps, they look much better that way.
