also brought along an untested 2m Gulf Alpha Antennas 7-element Yagi to experiment with and borrowed a 15-el homebrew yagi for 432 experimentation...both antennas exhibited a very low SWR

DESCRIPTION

The 6 meter fall sprint for 2001 was sponsored by the Southeastern VHF Society. This contest is a single band (6 meter) weak signal VHF contest (SSB/CW). There are four other VHF-and-above sprints which normally occur in the fall. They are the sprints for 144, 222, 432, and 902 & above (Microwave Sprint). These five sprints are held again in the spring.

The AA2YG team again thanks KA2MYD who loaned us equipment for the 2001 6m Fall Sprint. Special thanks to N2RXK for loaning us a yagi so we could try out 432 while hilltopping. Another thanks to N2KBK/4 for building a great 6m yagi which performed flawlessly on its first rover operation, and thanks to KE2DN for working us on a 2m SSB sked--we were 5x7 from 79 miles away on 10 watts, so no need for the amp. All pictures taken by AA2YG and N2SLN--no digital camera yet...now taking donations...
