Located on Clausland Mountain in southeastern Rockland
County, the N2LKV repeater system operates on frequencies 443.850 / 448.850 and 53.370
/ 52.370. At an elevation of over 600ft with output power over
200 watts, the system coverage extends north to southern Orange County, south to
Monmouth County New Jersey (including all boroughs of NYC) and east to parts of
Connecticut. On 6 meters we have regular check-ins from areas just north of Philadelphia
in Pennsylvania.
CTCSS or "PL" of 114.8hz is required on the 440 side while 6 meters is carrier squelch.. Band openings are enjoyed on 6 meters as most Rocklanders work stations around the country with 1/2 a watt on 443.850 which is continuously linked to 53.370..
A Repeater is a transmitter and receiver combined together to simultaneously receive and retransmit radio signals. Repeaters are generally located in optimal radio locations, such as on top of hills or towers, to give then wide area coverage. As a result, a radio with very low power, such as a handi-talkie or mobile radio can increase it's range from a couple of miles to 50 or more miles.
I would personally like to thank the following friends / fellow amateurs for all their help with the repeater system...for without them there would be NO system!

And of course Cathy, N2TAV my wife who lets me go to site anytime I want.

Hi, I'm Adam the trustee of the N2LKV repeater system. Besides amateur radio my hobbies also include public safety two way radio (Scanner Buff), computers, and devoting time to the community as a Lieutenant in the volunteer Fire Department. Check out some pictures of the home QTH Shack by clicking here.
I'm employed by the Rockland County Sheriff's Department as a Supervisor in the Public Safety E-911 Center. Here I receive E-911 calls, communicate with Police units, and dispatch 26 Fire Departments county wide.
