Place:Fireman's field in Honeoye Falls, NY
Date: Weekend of October 20-22nd, 2000
Topic: Communications and Amateur Radio
Well everybody, it's over. We had about 200 scouts run through our program and a few other Cub scouts wander through during Saturday. No doubt about it, "we done good". A couple of small holes popped up in the program and a couple fillins showed up. The army guard and reserve units that helped were fantastic. The fire department even sent over an ambulance for the boys to check out which, by the way, has a very loud siren and p.a. system. The darkened tent with the army night vision gear was also a big hit (a popped in event). The premier event was definately "Eagle Radio". Jon ran the whole show for 12 hours; two groups at the same time. I have never seen so many focused boy scouts in one place...ever. Congratulation Jon and thank you for a great event. There are a few odds and ends to clean up like unpacking my van but I would personally like to thank you all for what you have done. You have given up a lot of time for which you could have certainly found other things to do. I know we have traded our time wisely. I wish every compliment, thank you and "this was the best event we've ever been to" could have been heard by every one of you. Thanks again, |
