What you see below was an attempt (back to 1994) to install A3S antenna on the roof of the apartment I've rented in Brooklyn, NY that time. Team from the Russian-Speaking Radio Club international (RSRCI) headed by club's president Ed Kritsky (NT2X) came to me for help. The mast was set over the used inflated truck tire, which was my 'invention' and allowed not to puncture the roof. With guy wires it was stable enough. Unfortunately, my lendlord got mad (probably instigated by neighbours) and we took it down next day.

And R5 Cushcraft was purchased and placed instead...(L-R: NP3D and N2HO)

R5 is still my 'main' antenna, and since 1994 works great!

Below is HF transceiver I've designed and built in 1987. This interesting project took about 2 years to complete from scratch. Final stage was built on vacuum tube (GU-19) and produced about 40W PEP. I left it to my friend Vakhtang (ex UF6FEH) when we decided to emigrate.

For some reason it didn't work well in his house. He told that it produced strange AC-like hum (Maybe some design problems? It worked well for me, would be interesting to troubleshoot, but this unit is out of my reach and he doesn't use it. Pity.)
