I started out with a Trygon Supply HR40-750 that was working unto a catastrophic failure of some unknown part. It was evident that I could not fix it, since the part had no value or any identification. It was black and stunk. The thing looks like a metal pot except for the fact that the two fixed leads were a direct short. :-/ Oh well.
I began with a diode bridge(120V PIV 1N4004). I then added caps for filtering the ripple. I added negative and positive regulators (+5V, -5V, +12V, -12V, and +ADJ) to the board for added usability.
After I was done, the power supply worked like a charm! At least now I know how to fix it. ;-)
