Welcome to Lost in The SuperMarket!

Welcome to LITS!  My little vanity site on the World Wide Web.

What is Lost in the SuperMarket

Lost In The Supermarket was a small hobby Bulletin Board System that was in operation from January of 1989 through December of the year 2000.   It was a place for people in the local community around Peabody, MA to get online prior to the internet and The World Wide Web but somehow stayed online for 11 years.  It is also an appropriate name for this little web space since I work in the Supermarket industry and I am indeed Lost in the Supermarket.

Who am I?

My name is Jim Marrs and I am just another wierd person from Peabody, MA.  Computers and communicating online is a Hobby of mine that I have been involved with for over 12 years when I bought my first IBM compatible computer ,a Tandy 1000 SX and a 1200 baud modem. After calling Tandy's PC Link ( the mother of America On-Line) and driving up my credit card bills I found out that there was a whole different on-line world out there on the local BBS scene. I work for a major supermarket chain in the Boston area and named my BBS from that as well as the fact that I am a great music fan and loved the song by the Clash with the same name. I am 47 years old and have never been married. I live on a quiet tree lined street in Peabody, MA and I like helping people get on-line for the first time.
