Here is a front picture of the DF unit that I built. I wanted it to look as commercially built as possible.  I did not want it to look like another project.
I was just as picky on the back of the unit.  I added a RS-232 port for a later project but they no longer make the RS-232 kit for it any more.  So now I'm stuck with a port that does not work.  If anybody has an extra please e-mail me.
In the lower left I installed two 6 Volt lead acid rechargeables to get me the 12 Volts I needed.  This was the best way to keep the engine noise out of the unit when hunting down the fox.  Note the neat wiring job in the unit.  This was a bad habit I picked up when I was doing mobile electronics.
I just finished building this one but have not had a chance to try it out yet.  The fox hunting that gets done around here is all VHF.  I hope to get some people motivated to do some UHF hunting.  I have plans to built a UHF fox box and will be posting it on the project page this summer.
I've have been using this on for a long time now.  This one is from the original plans and have not made any changes to it or the dopplers antennas data output.  Hey why fix something if it is not broken.  Well or until I need a new project to work on.

Check out the stealth ground plane and the sky blue antennas.
