“The primary purpose of this net is to provide training for Emergency Communications with a secondary purpose of handling traffic and discussions pertinent to furthering the interest of Amateur Radio. This net meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 1900 local time on the 145.450 repeater with a tone of 67.0 and then QSY to 147.565 simplex after the roll call is completed. This is a directed net and we welcome all Amateurs to check in. At this time, do we have any emergency or priority traffic?  Do we have any routine traffic?”

 

After handling any traffic

 

“The roll call of the Penobscot County ARES Group will now be called. Members are asked to respond with their call signs and first name slowly please.”

After roll call

 

“Are there any non member amateurs wishing to check in, call signs slowly please? Does anyone have any comments before we change to simplex operation?”

 

After comments

 

“This has been a regularly scheduled net of the Penobscot County ARES Group. I will now return the repeater back to regular use. This is _____ (insert callsign) and the net is secure.”

 

After securing the net, complete the roll call again on 147.565 simplex. Ask for comments again after completing simplex roll call.
