About the DXer (Eric Bueneman)

I have been involved in the DX hobby since 1981, when I purchased a Realistic DX-60 AM/FM/CB/SW receiver. I started out DXing on SW, then worked my way into the AM, or medium wave, broadcast band, and later on into FM and TV. I have DXed from two locations within the city limits of Hazelwood, MO (I have been at my current QTH since June 1992), as well as two locations along the Cobb-Cherokee County line in Georgia.
Since October 1992, I have been a licensed Technician Class Amateur Radio Operator, as N0UIH. I hold two monitor call signs, KDX0STL (issued by WDX Monitor Service on July 30, 1982), and KMO0CN (issued by CRB Research on October 17, 1984).
My current shortwave setup includes a Sangean ATS-803A AM/FM/LW/SW portable receiver, along with an MFJ-1778 G5RV antenna, with an MFJ-956 antenna tuner, which I also use for some AM (MW) and expanded band AM (1610-1700 kHz) DXing.
Speaking of AM, I currently use a Realistic STA-90 AM/FM/FM Stereo receiver, a National NC-60 Special AM/SW receiver, along with a Worcester Electronics Space Magnet 2 (an amplified ferrite rod). The STA-90 tunes up to 1670 kHz on AM.
The same STA-90 receiver is used on FM, with a Radio Shack VU-210XR VHF-TV/UHF-TV/FM antenna, which was added in July 1998. Allowing the demonstration of it's directional capabilities is a Radio Shack Archerotor.
For TV DX, the same VU-210XR is used, along with a Yorx 4.5-inch (11.5 cm) black and white TV and an Alaron 12-inch (30 cm) black and white TV.
The Amateur Radio setup consists of a Realistic HTX-202 handheld transceiver for 2 Meters (144-148 MHz), along with an MFJ-1750 five-eighths wave ground plane. You may be able to find me on the 146.85 MHz (-) W0SRC repeater.
