LOCATION:

The hamfest will be held in Macon, Missouri in 2001.  Macon is located at the junction of  US 36 and US 63 in North Central Missouri.  Maps of the local area and region available by clicking the links..

The site will be located at the Macon Vo-Tech School on US 63 located as indicated on the local area map.

For those navigators, our GPS coordinates are N 39º 44.8'   W 092º 27.9'


 

ADMISSION:

TICKET FOR THE EVENT         $3.00 each   or   2 for $5.00

Tickets serve as your chance at the Grand Prize Drawing and second and third prize drawings.


 

TICKET SALES:

Individuals may request tickets by sending check for tickets to North Central Hamfest Committee, C/O Dale Bagley, P.O. Box 13, Macon, MO  63552.  Orders must be received by June 2, 2001, to be delivered by mail.   Please include an SASE.  Tickets may be held at the door upon your request.  Tickets will be held at the door for those ordered after June 2, 2001.

Swap table, chair and one Hamfest Ticket for $10.00 each in advance or at the door.  Everyone with a table will be qualified for a special exhibitor prize drawing.   Better yet, everyone with a table automatically  wins a cup of coffee/tea  and a donut/cookies free from our concession  stand!

Electricity is limited.

COMMERCIAL DISPLAYS:    Set-up will be 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM Saturday morning.

Commercial tables are available for inside space for a nominal cost.  Tables come with two chairs each.

There is a limited number of spaces with electricity available on a first come, first served basis.

COMMERCIAL DEALERS:

We are  happy to announce that we will have commercial dealers that enhance our hamfest and help fill your needs.

TAILGATE AREA:

Tailgaters will find plenty of space outside the downstairs area.  The parking lot is spacious and should provide an excellent tailgate area.  FREE with purchase of admission ticket!

 

FCC EXAMS:

License exams will be given on site beginning at 9:30 AM.  number of participants will be limited, so early registration is suggested.  Exams will be available for Technician, General and Extra!  This is provided by our excellent VE participation in North Central Missouri.  THANKS TO THE VE's.

If you have a topic you would like to present at our hamfest we want to hear from you.  Please contact Dale Bagley to discuss your ideas or to get more information.


 

 DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS:

Door prizes will be drawn every half hour beginning at 8:30 AM.  hourly.  Must be present to win.  Your admission ticket enters you for these drawings.  All tickets will be put back into the pot for the Grand Prize drawing.

 

GRAND PRIZE DRAWING:

The Grand Prize and Second and Third prize drawings will be held at 1:00 PM.   Need not be present to win the Grand Prize.

 

SITE ACCESS AND PARKING:

Parking will be on the west and north sides of  the Macon school complex.

From US 63, take Maffry Street at the traffic light.  Parking attendants will be there to assist you.

Handicap parking is next to the school building, near the hamfest entrance, on the north face of the building.

CONCESSION STAND:

The concession stand  will have coffee, tea, soda, donuts, cookies, and our famous juicy-burgers on the lunch  menu.  An excellent opportunity to quench a thirst or quiet a hungry  stomach, so stop by and see the wonderful selection made possible by our excellent concession caterer/hostess.

 

LOCAL RESTAURANTS:

You will not doubt want to dine at the concession stand at the hamfest.  See above.  However, after enjoying what Macon has to offer you might wish to have dinner at a local restaurant.  Here is some of what the Macon area has to offer.  The hamfest hosts can give you directions.

TALK-IN FREQUENCY:

The talk-in frequency will be by the Macon County Amateur Radio Club repeater on 146.805 (-) located in Macon, MO.  Expect to get the repeater with a couple watts from 15 miles out in any direction, or about 30 miles out with 25 watts.
