Decided to take a couple of days break from work and go for a road trip to Van's and pick up the wing kit. Did that this past week and today I've started the inventory of the kit.

April 14, 2001

Finished the inventory. Only thing missing are the large aileron control rods which are on back order. Also had to re-arrange the hanger a little to fit everything in more efficiently.

The main wing spars are a work of art. What a shame to have to take a power tool to them. Anyway, gotta do it. I completed all the prep work on the left wing spar. This included all the countersinking and installation of the platenuts.

May 05, 2001

Left wing skeleton is all cleco'd together including the aileron and flap hinge brakets. Very kewl. The ribs have all been drilled, deburred and dimpled. The aft spar and doublers are also ready for final assembly. This is going better than I thought it would. Van's kits are great.
