License Exam and Class Information

Note: it is recommended in all cases that you call ahead for each of the test sessions and classes listed below -- schedules sometimes change.

Test sessions are provided at most swapfests. Check the CRA News Swapfest Announcements for details.


Denver Metro Testing

The South Metro VE Team holds test sessions the first Saturday of every month at the Castlewood Public Library, 6739 S. Uinta Street, the southwest corner of Arapahoe Road and Uinta, 1/2 mile west of I-25. The Mile High VE Team holds exams the second Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1270 Poplar St. Enter from the parking lot at 13th Avenue and Quebec Street. For details call Glenn or Karen Schultz at 303-366-0155.

The Boulder Amateur Radio Club (BARC) holds exams on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Ball Aerospace Bldg. RA5, Range Rd., in Boulder. Contact Rich Weingarten, N0SH at 303-828-3661.

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Pike's Peak Radio Amateur Association holds test sessions the second Saturday of even months at 9 a.m. at the Denver Tech College, 225 S. GRAND JUNCTION - Testing is scheduled for the first Saturday of each month at 8:30 am. The testing sessions are sponsored by Amateur Radio For Youth (ARFY). No walk-ins accepted. FCC License Application Status Line -- The FCC has a phone number you can call for license application status. Call 888-CALL-FCC weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays ET for direct assistance; at other times an automated information system will respond.

Getting an FCC Form 610

The Mile High VE Team has available the latest FCC Form 610, 610V (Vanity), and 610B (Club Station). To receive one, send a business size S.A.S.E. to:
