 | When the emergency operator responds, ask for the emergency dispatcher and relay your message. |
 | Advise the dispatcher that you are an Amateur Radio Operator calling via two-way radio and ask if you are being heard. |
 | Tell them exactly what and where the emergency is. |
 | Allow the dispatcher to hang up first. |
 | If you do not know what county or city you are in, dial 911 for the Colorado Highway Patrol. |
 | After you give them your location and the nature of your emergency, depending on the call taker you reach, you may be asked to hold for a transfer or the call taker will relay your information to the appropriate agency. |
