Scan Any Frequency In any Band!

One thing I noticed about the Yaesu VX-1R when I scanned the memory channels, is that
the VX-1R would not scan V-HAM and U-HAM frequencies at the same time.  If I'm in the V-HAM
mode, it would only scan V-HAM frequencies only.  If you want to scan any frequency in any band,
and have any version of the Programming Software (ADMS-1) follow the directions below:

Here's Step By Step Directions:

1) Make sure you have the programming software (ADMS) software installed and working properly

2)  Locate the "yaesu.ini" file in the windows directory (If your unsure on how to locate this file, see below)

 3)  Open the "yaesu.ini" file

4)  add the following:  AllowAnyBand=1

 5) Save your changes, and your done

This is what my 'yaesi.ini" file looked like before the modification:

 [VX-1R Programmer]
DataDir=C:\YAESU\VX1
Com=1
TemplateFile=C:\YAESU\VX1\Template.tpl

........and after adding the modification

 [VX-1R Programmer]
DataDir=C:\YAESU\VX1
Com=1
TemplateFile=C:\YAESU\VX1\Template.tpl
AllowAnyBand=1

Basically what this modification does is let you select and change the Band setting(V-Ham, U-HAM, VHF-TV etc...)
when your programming.  Before the modification, if you entered 145.000 the default setting in the Band
box would be V-HAM, and you could not select or change the Band setting.  After modifying your yaesu.ini
file with AllowAnyBand=1, the Band box is now highlighted and you can select any mode you want that
frequency to scan in.  Kinda neat.  Here's an example:

 Lets say I program in the following frequencies:

1) V-HAM   144.450
2) V-HAM   146.000
3) V-HAM   146.970
4) V-HAM   145.450
5) U-HAM   443.450
6) U-HAM   446.750
7) U-HAM   447.000
8) ACT-2   857.5000
9) ACT-2   835.8500

 If  I'm in theV-HAM memory band and I start scanning, the only frequencies that will scan are the four(4) V-HAM
Frequencies.  If I go to the U-HAM band and start scanning the only frequencies that scan are the U-HAM Freqs.
Now, what the modification does is it allows you to change the default Bands (V-HAM, U-HAM Etc....)
regardless of the frequency you entered.  Lets say I want to scan all 10 frequencies in the V-HAM band,
I would change the Band setting so all frequencies have the V-HAM setting Like bellow:

1) V-HAM   144.450
2) V-HAM   146.000
3) V-HAM   146.970
4) V-HAM   145.450
5) V-HAM   443.450
6) V-HAM   446.750
7) V-HAM   447.000
8) V-HAM   857.5000
9) V-HAM   835.8500

Notice all frequencies are in the V-HAM Band even though the actual frequencies are not.

 How to Locate your Yaesu.ini file:

1) Click on the START button in the bottom left corner(Task Bar)

2) go to  FIND... then click on FIND FILES or FOLDERS

3) Type in:     yaesu.ini

4) There might be two (2) yaesu.ini files found - The one you need is the one in the
Windows directory (not the windows/system directory).

5) Double click on the yaesu.ini file and follow the directions at the top of the page. (step 4)
