Remove the detatchable face and the bottom cover.  Look at the pcb that
is vertical behind the the front of the radio.  There will be 5-6 sets
of solder pads numbered 0-whatever.  There will be 2 chip resistors on
the first two pads, the rest are empty.  Remove the resistor on the
first pad (the one closest to the grounding spring-should be #0).  The
new range should be VHF 136-173.995TX 118-174RX UHF 410-469.995TX
300-470 RX.
