Mobile Qrv....
The Countryside around here is breathtakingly beautifull, and it's great to throw some equipment, sandwiches and a flask of tea together and head for the hills. This picture was taken at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level and i have made many DX contacts from this location, using the setup pictured below and a set of PRO-AM mobile whips on a tri-magmount.
I am not too keen on all of the Pro-am whips, but the 14 MHz version works very well especially from up here. Contacts that have been made include stations from VK, ZL, K6 and BD . I have even used the 14 MHz whip as a makeshift base antenna, perched on a tin roof... with good results .......

This is my Mobile setup, comprising a KENWOOD TS-140S, KENWOOD AT-130 tuner,
and my portable paddle. The rig is a bit big by modern mobile rig standards, but i have had a lot of fun with it. My only gripe is the cw filter, i have the ceramic filter and not the much better crystal version. The little slider controls on the TS-140 can also be a bit of a pain at times as they are a bit fiddly and sensitive, but all in all it has been a good and robust little rig
The AT-130 tuner is an asset, as my mobile whips are all tuned for the cw portion of each band , but i do like to do a bit of phone now and again, so it comes in handy ......
