Secretary's Report
The Secretary's Report was given by Al, W8FYZ and the Minutes of the last meeting
were read - Motion to Accept: Mike-KE8IL, Second: Jack-N8JRN, Passed.
Treasurer's Report
Mike, KE8IL gave the Treasurer's Report: (Removed for online publication)

Old Business
~ Mike-KE8IL stated he had received a letter from Verizon (they purchased
Alltel on 1/9/09) stated that the Lease at Marquette Mountain was still in place
and auto-renewed until 2013. Mike did not anticipate any problems with the new owners.
~ Al, W8FYZ gave an update on the linking project to connect the Trenary
Amateur Radio Association's 147.03 to the MRA 97: Al stated this was way on the
back burner until all pending priority projects are complete, however, most of
the equipment needed is on hand already. Jack-N8JRN asked what else was needed.
~ Al, W8FYZ stated that the new 444.800 repeater has been complete for some
time but that He had a problem with the amplifier chosen to run with it and is
still working on it. He expects to be done very soon. Mike-KE8IL asked that the
ID'er on the existing 440 be shut off if we cannot get the new 440 up the hill soon.
~ Al, W8FYZ stated that repair of the Kendicom 97 is not complete yet pending
completion of the 440 Repeater project.
~ Al, W8FYZ apologized to the members present that he has been unable to get
any further with the second 440 antenna project due to personal time constraints.
Spring installation is the soonest He sees this getting done.
New Business
~ Mike, KE8IL reported that Paul, KB0P's 443.500 repeater is now at the Cliff's
Mine Shaft, same location as the Ishpeming 91.
~ Fred, W5TJC presented Mike-KE8IL with a re-built UPS configured special for
the Echolink Kenwood Radio System. Besides backing up the PC needed for Echolink
operation, the system charges a battery for use in backing up the radio itself
~ Materials were donated by Fred-W5TJC and Al-W8FYZ. All work was performed by
Fred-W5TJC.
~ Fred-W5TJC and Al W8FYZ gave a report on their attendance at the annual
UPARRA meeting at the Esky Hamfest in August and involvement with the group put
together to investigate the Paging interference being received on the Cooks 700,
The Manistique 79 and Trenary 7.03 Repeaters. No suspect yet identified, however,
paging transmitter heterodyning was heard.
