No Secretary’s Report as Buck, N8CQA, is not in attendance. Buck is doing well and attended last month’s First Saturday Breakfast. Stan, AC8W, passed out a summary Treasurer’s Report for information only. As of March 15, 2006 we had $2,274.49 in savings and $429.09 in checking. Accepted as submitted. Old Business: The club’s web site is out of date. Discussion. Mike, WB8ICN, is doing a great job as the T5W Editor. He requests that members send articles to him for inclusion in the newsletter. He has been using material from the Flying Pigs and would sure like some real MQRP stuff. Hank, K8DD, will make a donation to QSL.net for the club and be reimbursed by Treasurer Stan, AC8W. Discussion of a QRP to QRP Field Day type of event. Not enough interest so the idea was put on hold. We do need more participation from club members in existing MQRP sponsored events. An email was sent to by AC8W regarding Stan being a liason for the Worked All Michigan Counties Award. No reply was received. No word on the West Michigan Chapter. Hank, K8DD, reports that Chapter 11 is doing fine. Hank, K8DD, is the current QSL manager for WQ8RP and indicates a new manager is needed. He has a few logs, but they are incomplete. We also need new QSL cards. Discussion. Ed, AB8DF, volunteered to assume QSL manager duties and arrange for new QSL cards. Motion by K8DD, second by AC8W to purchase new QSL cards. Motion carried unanimously. New Business: We have a request to once again sponsor the High Score QRP Plaque for the Michigan QSO Party which will be April 15th this year. Cost is $65.00 Motion by K8DD, second by K8MEG to sponsor the plaque. Motion carried unanimously. Hank, K8DD, mentioned last November’s trip to St. Pierre and Miquelon. Hank’s tradition is to operate QRP on the Thursday before the contest weekend so FP/K8DD was on and made several QRP contacts. Hank, K8DD, is looking for help at the boot at the Dayton Hamvention. We will sell mugs and take memberships. Helene, W8MEG, asked if there was a “Family Plan” when two or more Hams are in the same household and only one T5W is needed? Discussion. Motion by K8MEG, second by K8AEM to start a Family Membership where one copy of The 5 Watter will be sent to start at the Dayton Hamvention and be effective with the next issue of T5W. Walt, K8AEM, asked about the condition of the club logo sign. Discussion. Not sure of it’s whereabouts. Hank, K8DD, mentioned a low cost banner and he agreed to follow up and get one made that would include the logo, “Michigan QRP Club” and “WQ8RP”. Meeting adjourned at 11:40 a.m. |
