Welcome to the web site for the Capital Area Amateur Radio Emergency Service. CA-
ARES consists of a dedicated group of amateur radio enthusiast (HAMS) who believe
that service to their community is an important part of holding a Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) Amateur Radio Service license. When all else fails
our volunteers provide emergency communications via a wide range of frequencies
and operating modes. When telephone switches fail, when ice storms bring down
power and telephone lines, whenever we our asked by a client agency to help, we are
there.
|
|
CA-ARES falls within the jurisdiction of the New Hampshire Amateur Radio Emergency
Service (NH-ARES) and provides communications support for client agencies in
Concord and the surrounding New Hamsphire communities.

Capital Area ARES holds a weekly net on Mondays at 1900, local time, on the K1BKE
repeater (146.895, 100Hz CTCSS (PL) tone, - offset) locate on the summit of Pat's Peak
in Henniker, New Hampshire. The K1BKE repeater is owned and operated by the
Contoocook Valley Radio Club who meets on the second Tuesday or each month,
usually at the Hopkinton Town Library. CA-ARES is grateful to the CVRC for their years
of support. Thanks!

|
The purpose of the weekly net is to provide training and information for members of,
and all those interested in, Capital Area ARES. This net is a directed net and all hams
are invited to paticipate. Because it is a directed net, stations will be prompted by the
net control station (NCS) when to check into the net and we ask that those checking in
to participate in the net. Checking in/out is not encouraged. The NCS will periodically
ask for additional check-ins to accommodate late check-ins.
|
|
We also hold a meeting where members of CA-ARES meet in person to discuss
upcoming events, equipment, news pertaining to NHARES and CA-ARES and to
particpate in training classes. All hams are invited to join us at the Concord Bible
Fellowship, 15 Rockingham Street in Concord, NH at 1900 local time on the second
Monday of the month.
|
|
Again, we would like all area hams to become active in CA-ARES and invite you to
Email Peter, K1PJS, emergency coordinator, with questions regarding CA-ARES.
