
NNN0AS3 / NNN0SYM, Donald Evan Crow, assumed the reins of command of Region 3 effective 01 June 2006. We welcome Evan as the Region 3 Director, and pledge our support to him and the mission of MARS.
Donald Evan Crow was born in Birmingham, AL. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Auburn University in 1965. He attended Episcopal Theological Seminary in Virginia 1965-66.
Evan served 4 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 and subsequently in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1962 until 1988 when he retired as Chief Petty Officer.
His civilian employment included 14 years in photography and 14 years in communications. He became licensed as an Amateur Radio Operator in 1993 with the call sign KE4BWD and upgraded to Advanced Class in 1994.
Evan joined NAVMARCORMARS in 1994 and was assigned the call sign NNN0SYM where he has served on state and region nets. He served as NNN0GCB Four for 4 years and currently serves as NNN0GCB Three. He has also served as NNN0AS3 One in Region 3 since November 2005.
His community activities include ARES EC for Culpeper Co. He is a member of the Emergency Preparedness Committee, the Community Food Closet, and a driver with ACS and RSVP dialysis patient transportation.
Evan resides in Culpeper, VA with his wife Nancy. He has three children and two grandchildren.
