Maine ARES Emergency Communications Courses
The Introduction to Emergency Communications is based on the Colorado ARES course in an Adobe Acrobat format. It is a short course introducing Emergency Communications to those new to the field. It involves studying the computer based course (in an Adobe Acrobat format) and answering the final exam questions and forwarding the final exam questions to the course administrator for correction. A score of 75 percent or better is required for certification. Students have 120 days from enrollment in the course to complete the course. The Maine Emergency Communications Course Level I is also based on the Colorado ARES course. The Maine Emergency Communications Course Level II is also based on the Colorado ARES course and has been developed to increase the number of qualified net control stations within Maine ARES as well as expanding the knowledge of ARES members on other emergency communications topics. The Maine Emergency Communications Course Level III is the third in the Maine Emergency Communications series. As the Maine Emergency Communications Course, Levels I and II are the basic and intermediate levels, respectively, the Maine Emergency Communications Course, Level III is the advanced course. The Maine ARES Leadership Course is designed around a Colorado ARES course and gives those Maine ARES members in a leadership position (AEC, EC and DEC) an overview of their duties and responsibilities as well as a program to develop leadership skills. It is an Adobe Acrobat format. The course may be downloaded below. Please e-mail John, K1JJS to enroll in the course.
The Maine ARES Safety Course is a basic safety course for ARES responders. It covers Individual, Team and Mission safety as well as basic electrical and RF safety in the field. The course may be downloaded below. Please e-mail John, K1JJS to enrol in the course.
At the successful completion of the course, you will be sent your certificate in an Adobe Acrobat format. If you desire a printed certificate, please mail a certificate sized envelope along with three pieces of postage to:
