My Radio's and activity page.

I carry out my HF radio activities on an Icom 706 Mk1 using an 141 ft wire loop antenna which is resonant on 40 mtrs but will also tune all bands. I have worked into Morroco with this antenna on Top Band. My main interest lies with CW I get a lot of pleasure from using my Hi-Mound straight key.

Although my 706 has VHF built into it I prefer to use my Icom 251-e with Mutek front end for 2 mtr work. I think this radio is a bit more sensitive than the 706. My antenna for 2 mtrs is a tri band vert which also gets some use on the magic 50mhz band a band on which i used to be very active. I worked state side in June 1999 with 20 watts and a 5 ele Tonna beam.

I am a member of FISTS CW Club and hold the century award. My FISTS number is 6425 but if you want my CC number then ime afraid you will have to work me on the key for it hihi. I am also a RNARS member and my number is 3999 and the only award I have is the Mercury award for working a set ammount of stations.
