about M3DPE

I obtained my amateur licence in 2002 (thanks to G0ACK), starting with this M3 call, although I have since passed the RAE (also in 2002) and 5 WPM morse, just not had time to get around to applying for the new call. I rarely use over 10 watts anyway due to neighbour constraints and TVi !

I haven't had much of a chance to use CW yet, which is a shame as it holds a particular fascination for me. Hopefully that will be resolved soon . . . . .. on low power.

I am actively involved in progressing the hobby in terms of pushing the frontiers of radio and technology and I'm also actively involved in Voice over IP (VoIP) and currently developing for the eQSO software suite. I co-run a PMR446 website with a Dutch friend, Tj, and have a keen interest in low power radio operation.

Equipment Info I'm using a Kenwood TW3000 dual bander for 2m and 70cms (mostly either repeater nattering or experimentation). That outputs into two custom built collinear slim-jim variations for about 3dbd gain.

A Swan Cygnet 270-B (yeah, remember those?!) gets me on HF with a selection of attic dipoles.

Location Info I'm based near Richmond in Surrey, United Kingdom.

Maidenhead Locator : IO91uk
