Quite a few chaser points were made while driving north up the M6 and into Cumbria - Shirley and students on Moel Famau GW/NW-044, Steve on Great Gable G/LD-005 and Sam on Helvellyn G/LD-003.  I missed a fair few as well, and gained some SWL points too.  We parked at the Gummer's How picnic site car park on the minor road between Newby Bridge and Tarnside, and walked up the easy path from there.  On the final approach to the summit we scrambled directly up ahead, but it turned out that we could have turned right and continued all the way on a gradual easy path.  Despite being a one-pointer in the Lakes, the views all around were stunning on this beautiful warm early evening.
