Easington Fell G/SP-012 is an easy 20 minute gradual stroll - about a mile and 80m of ascent. Jimmy M3EYP and Liam made a start while I chatted to Chris M0JRQ who introduced himself to me in the parking area. He had just activated it, and as I was to discover later, used up the supply of chasers for himself! After setting up the SOTA Beam, WASP and FT-817 in the small summit cairn, such was the wall of silence that followed our CQ calls that we even called into the GB3MN and GB3MP repeaters to check that we were actually transmitting a signal! We did finally manage to scrape the necessary contacts together, and were able to pack up and commence descent, well behind Liam who had long since set back off for the car. Several country pubs looked very inviting in the hot summer afternoon, but time was also marching on, so it was directly back to Macclesfield to pick up a curry take-away for the family tea, after a starters of after-sun all round.
