This is the mod for FT-50R Dual band radio.  Please excuse my artwork, it's
hard to draw a radio with letters. he he Las Vegas,NV (mod man)
This is the FT-50R CAP/MARS MOD.
Expanded Transmit 140-174, 420-470
*Remove Battery. (of course)
*Remove the Ni-Cd sticker. (use a pair of tweezers or simular to remove without
damaging.
*Remove the (2) silver screws.
*Slowly...Lift off the Keypad and carefully locate the Jumper Pads (the pad does
not just pop off! Work with it, may have to use a small screw driver to lift
around the edges.
*Locate and unsolder jumper #1 (see diagram)
*Re-install the Keypad with the (2) screws. (be sure to get the orange seal
back in the correct place.
*Turn Radio Off
*Press down and hold the Top-Notch(tm) and LAMP button while turning on the
Radio.
*Modification Done (now the hard part, REPROGRAMMING THE RADIO!! HI HI.)

Please use common sence when using the mod.  It is against the law to use
Amateur equipment out of band unless you are a government service that permits
this.  Or, you are a licensed CAP or MAR person.
even some unpuplished one's.  Yaesu radio's are my specialty becuase there the

P.S Still looking for a cell mod for the FT-50R, I'm sure there's a way.  After
all, the 800 circutry is there.  Might be in the chip
