M0ADS is my Amateur Radio callsign allocated by the Radiocommunications Agency of the UK . My real name is John, and I reside in the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

I was first licensed in 1993 and have held the calls 2E1CIC and G7SMA before passing the UK 12 wpm Morse Test and gaining my A licence in early 1996. My wife Andrea has since taken over the call 2E1CIC after successfully completing the UK novice course and the subsequent examination.

My interests within the hobby are wide and varied, and encompass most of the Amateur Radio bands we are allocated here in the UK. I have access to all the bands from 80 metres (3.5 MHz)  to 70 cms (430 MHz) and act as a remote sysop to GB7MRU my local BBS located in Stocksbridge, Sheffield. In the near future I hope to start experimenting in the microwave bands, once the necessary equipment has been constructed.

I have also recently constructed a Weather Satellite receiver and am able to copy the American NOAA and Russian Meteor Satellites as they pass overhead. Instant weather forecasts !

On the left are scanned images of my two favourite Qsl cards confirming contacts with the
Space Shuttle Discovery in 1994 and the Mir Space Station in 1995 under my previous call of G7SMA. The thrill of these two cards landing through my letter box cannot be overstated !

Here's hoping this can be repeated when Amsat finally are
allowed to place the P3D satellite into orbit.
