Municipal RACES

See below for a table of municipal radio officers and local simplex frequencies

Each Morris County municipality has an Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Many, but not all, of these municipal OEMs have active RACES units.

The municipal Radio Officer (RO) is the leader of each municipal RACES unit.  The municipal RO is appointed by and reports to their town's Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC).  The municipal RO often works closely with the Morris County Radio Officer. A municipal RO has many of the same responsibilities as the County RO. These include overseeing actual emergency operations, maintaining the EOC radio equipment, and recruiting and training new members.

In some municipalities the RO is also the ARES Emergency Coordinator (EC), although an EC reports to a volunteer ARES District Emergency Coordinator (DEC). To find out more about the responsibilities of these similar positions, consult the ARES "Emergency Coordinator's Manual" which you can order online from the ARRL.

If you are interested in learning more about RACES activities and membership, please contact the RO for your town. He or she will probably be able to give you information about ARES activities as well.

The table below has municipal information listed in alphabetic order. For each town your will find:
