I am a professional linguist and in my job I deal and work with several languages everyday. As I mention in the text, my interest in radio began more or less at the same time as my interest in foreign languages. The possibility of expressing myself in different languages has always been for me one of the challenges of the exciting hobby of amateur radio.
And a linguist should know that, even if you have a reasonable knowledge of a foreign language, unless you are bilingual you will never be able to write, speak or feel the language exactly in the same way a native speaker does. There are always words, forms or expressions that only a native speaker can be sure of.
Since my mother language is Portuguese and I am drafting this version of my homepage in English, I shall be more than happy if native speakers of English or anyone who detects possible mistakes will help me correcting them and making this homepage more fluent and as perfect as possible. Please do not hesitate to do so, all suggestions are welcome.
You may get in touch with me by signing my Guestbook or dropping me a line by e-mail. Thank you very much for your co-operation. António Callixto, LX2DW, CT1DW
