SKYWARN updates are available on the Monday night ARES/RACES net at
7:30 pm PT on the 147.180 repeater
and on the Thursday night Mohave
County, Arizona ARES/RACES net at 7:00 pm MST on the 145.11 repeater in
Boulder City, Nevada or 448.250 repeater in Kingman, Arizona.
The Las Vegas QST machine also has SKYWARN information on 146.730 (-) touchtone 2.
One way Mohave County, Arizona hams are looking at being notified of a SKYWARN activation is with the use of DTMF touch tone decoders to open receivers to the SKYWARN message traffic.
Clark County members are encouraged to monitor NOAA weather radio 162.550 for weather developments and the 147.015 ARES/RACES repeater during times of potential severe weather. Stay tuned to NWS Special Weather Statements and Hazardous Weather Outlook Statements to find out if SKYWARN will be activated.
