Disaster Communications Service

The Lomita Station Disaster Communications Service is an element of the Los Angeles County Disaster Communications Service (DCS). It is a volunteer organization made up of Amateur Radio Operators, administered by the Sheriff's Department. The responsibility of DCS, as authorized under County Ordinance, is to provide volunteer disaster relief communication for the citizens of Los Angeles County. The Lomita DCS serves the cities of Lomita, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance, Hermosa Beach and the Unincorporated Areas within the Lomita Station Jurisdiction.

We are located in the Sheriff's station on Narbonne in Lomita. Most of the cities have their own Emergency Operations Centers, and are supported by City Nets operating locally.  Enrolled Amateur Radio Operators, operate the city and district stations as well as their personally owned equipment under the RACES Rules and Regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. Our group amateur call sign is W6LMT.  All licensed Amateur Radio operators are invited to join the Lomita DCS. For more information contact us at Lomita DCS.
