LINN COUNTY ARES VHF NET PREAMBLE

This is (your name & callsign) and I will be Net Control for this session of the Linn County Amateur Radio Emergency Service VHF Net. All ARES members and all interested amateurs are encouraged to participate in this net.

This Net meets every Monday evening at 7:00 PM local time, on a frequency of 146.610 MHz with a PL tone of 167.9, through the courtesy of Vaughn Sweet, KA7ENW, with a backup simplex frequency of 146.500 MHz if the repeater is not working. The purpose of this net is to keep the members and any interested amateurs informed of happenings and events in the local area. This net will attempt to handle all traffic offered and provide emergency service coordination for the Linn County ARES group.

This is a directed net. To break the net, please use your call. All stations checking in are requested to remain on frequency until the net is secured or excused by net control. For information on joining the Amateur Radio Emergency Service Group, please contact the net control station at the end of the net. We are always looking for new people to become involved with ARES.

This is (your name and callsign) net control for this evenings Linn County ARES net.

The net is now open for emergency, priority, or health and welfare traffic. (Handle this traffic NOW!).

The net is now open for stations with routine traffic. Check in with you call and destination of your traffic (arrange to handle this traffic now).

Are there any mobile stations or any stations that are on back up or emergency power or who would like an early out? Please come now with your call. Ask if anyone needs to contact these people.

Are there any stations with QST’s, Bulletins, or Announcements? Please check in with your call (handle these after roll call if possible).

We will now begin the Linn County Roll Call by city. Please check in when you hear the city called that is closest to your station location. Also please give any special ARRL designations you may have such as Emergency Coordinator, Assistant Emergency Coordinator, Official Emergency Station, and so on.

Are there any Checkins from:

Albany      Brownsville       Crabtree   Halsey       Jefferson   Lacomb    Lebanon

Lyons        Millersberg        Scio            Shedd        Sodaville  Sweethome

  Tangent    Waterloo

That concludes the net geographic roll call. Are there any other stations inside Linn County that would like to check into the net? Please come now with your call and QTH.

Are there any late or missed stations for the net? Please come now with your call and QTH.

Hearing nothing further, I wish to thank all stations for their participation and help, as well as those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. This is (your name and callsign) securing the Linn County Amateur Radio Emergency Services VHF net at _______pm local time. Since there is no after business (if there isn’t), the frequency is now open for the general amateur use. Good Evening!
