| LA9M was the callsign of our former member Einar Schumann, now
silent key. Einar was an excellent CW operator with a good "fist". He
enjoyed DX hunting on the HF bands and was also a regular in many CW
contests. He was the "Grand Old Man" of our radio club and helped many
of our members to become licensed radio amateurs. The club previously used the callsign LA1MA, but obtained the call LA9M when it was released again 10 years after Einar passed away. We are proud to honor Einar by keeping his old call sign active in our radio club. |
