Amateur Radio
I am an amateur radio operator, with callsigns LA9HFA, SP5LGP
High Speed Club member # 965
I started my amateur radio career around year 1975 at the age of 14
in the local technical school club station SP5PEN.
It was the right age to start with CW. Since it was difficult to learn
the CW alone, I involved my younger brother (now LA7MFA)
to help me with it. We started to play around with a CW generators and
cables spread around our house. We trained several hours a week and soon
we became to be able to go on the air from our club station. On CW of course.
In September 1978 I have got a private radio licence with call sign SP5LGP
and my brother with SP5LGT.
In the begging of 1998 I put an 18m VersaTower mast and a Force12 C-3
beam on the top of it.
