Drammen has many church. The main church is Bragernes from 1871. It is a long church in neo-Gothic styles. The beatiful carillon has 35 bells. Skoger Old Church is a medieval church built 1150-1200. There is also 3 modern working church in the town.

Drammen Theatre from 8.february 1870 was northern Europe finest theatre. After a fire 10.desember 1993 the new theatre open on 8.february 1997. A modern theatre with traditions from previous century.

Hanna Winsnes (1789-1872) "Mother of the Norwegian Cuisene" was born and grew up in Drammen. Her large cookbook a unique work was published in 1845 and appeared in as many as 12 impressions!

Norways oldest brewery AASS was founded in 1834. The Line Aquevit is born in Drammen 1840 on board in the brig "Preciosa" of Drammen. The first Norwegian sailing ship crossing the line (Equator) round Cape Horn.
