Stavern - - my QTH
Southeastern Norway ** loc: JO48WX

Stavern is small community at the southeastern coast of Norway. A very quiet place in the wintertime, but during the summermonths it is crowded with tourists. We have a large number of beautiful and well equipped camping-areas right at the beach, and good bars and restaurants in the community center. Many of the tourists come back every year. The community was formerly a city,- but is now part of Larvik. Staverns history goes back several hundred years as a naval base. We still have a military academy, but no navy...

LEFT : Pyramids in Norway ?? - - Yes, but as far as I know this is the only one. It is a memorial hall for sailors (seamen) lost during the two world wars.
RIGHT: View from the "blokk-
hus". This strange looking building is an old military installation, now a memory from the old days.
