I discovered internet January 1996 when I was told about a couple of interesting files that could be downloaded from there. What was internet, how did I connect, how did I navigate, all questions suddenly had to be answered - and soon they got answered.

My hobbies have been radio, communication, electronics, computer hardware and software all my life, so the next question came fast - how to make my own homepage.

My youngest son had a homepage project at school just then, and I got the HTML source of his school project and modified it. Although his name is also Erik, a lot of changes were necessary, many of his links were related to him being a young man with all kind of juices flowing around in his body, and my interests were - more theoretical (sign of maturity?).

Eventually, this homepage has developed into my own personal homepage - Hello World.

Hello World is written in HTML code entirely by using the text editor Notepad. This has certainly made me to know HTML code, but restricts also the layout of my personal homepage - I feel. However, I am an (emotional) engineer and can live with a flat personal homepage (where the layout suffer).

A little by little, more content was included in my personal homepage and I feel it is fine just now. What need to be much improved however is the format, the layout, which is my next homepage maintenance project. In order to improve the layout I will need to visit lots of other personal homepages, which I am doing now.

Hallicrafters gallery

My dream since I was a young radio interested kid - was hallicrafters. Hallicrafters is permanently stored with ones and zeroes in my brain since then, and one spring day in 1998 I got a serious outbreak of hallicrafters infection among these ones and zeroes - suddenly I needed to know everything about hallicrafters. I assumed that internet was the place where to stop my thirst - and I found something about hallicrafters on internet - but not what I wanted - the way I wanted.

I saw my mission in the light of a glowing radio tube.

To do it the way I wanted.

It was easy, just a lot of plain work - which will never end - but my borned dream - maybe everybodys dream - and it was obvious what to do next. I have done just the next since spring 1999 by now, built up hallicrafters gallery. In the start it was some experimenting about the format, now I have found the format which I mean is simple and easy accessible. On presentations, the format is very important and sometimes more important than the content, I feel however that hallicrafters gallery has a transparent and modest format giving focus to the real thing.

All the time I have got inspiration from the net and sometimes help from other webmasters. I see that hallicrafters gallery is duplicating some information on internet, but I think it is just fine to provide adversity on the subject.

The more mature I get the more conscious I get on the facts that humans are the most wonderful creations of all and that this creates complexity and dynamics. One of my strengths is to be able to identify and cultivate contradictions and dynamics appearing in front of my daily steps of life. This whole paragraph was made to let you the reader understand that I have no problems to confess that I am a person of contradictions! Contradictions creates focus on the details between, and let me end this part of hallicrafters gallery by identifying the contradiction that even if hallicrafters gallery is made entirely by one person - myself (did you guess by now?) - hallicrafters gallery is not made for me - but for you - all others. I love to jump into the HTML code and improve it even to move a comma from here to there. All by using EditPad which is a development above NotePad.
