rest of the story

When I got my ham-licence as a school-kid, my dream-rigs were Hallicrafters. One of my theories says that we shall save some dreams instead of fulfilling them (the dream could turn into a nightmare), and let me instead of collecting all Hallicrafters equipment - display the photoes of them. Maybe one of you can benefit of the photo collection - if you have been offered a piece of Hallicrafters, hopefully you will find the photo here.

Time passed, and from 1988 - 1995 I worked in oil and gas engineering in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In Saudi there was HARAAM (forbidden in arabic) to exercise hamradio!

When I returned home to Oslo, Norway in 1995 - I was THIRSTY for hamradio! Imagine, they sold LOTS OF QST, CQ, 73's in Riyadh and all these ham radio magizines were there teasing me up, but MAFI RADIO (mafi - mean none).

It was torture - hi hi.

When I returned home I HAD TO SO SOMETHING BUT QUICK.

I started to satisfy my 7 years of hamradio thirst - by building up my website. The first years - was Hallicrafters only - then I suddenly woke up to next level - B&W, Gonset, and all these other good brands.

Guess - that I had a good time myself!

Myself - I don't have any vintage gear, only the photos.

And nobody can take away from me - my memories.

I don't consider myself to be a hallicrafters collector, I have a couple of hallicrafters radios ok, I don't collect them but I operate them. I am a hallicrafters operator.
I am more than a hallicrafters operator, I am ME! http://home.no.net/hamar/
