12 amateur radio receiver
Breting 12 amateur (ham) radio receiver. This model was made in 1935 and 1936. It cost $93 new (a nice chunk of change back then). It receives 550 KHz-30 MHz. It uses 12 tubes. It was a high end unit and had a chrome chassis. Even the transformers were chrome. The dial in the center has 5 different frequency bands (10-20 meters, 20-40 meters, 40-75 meters, 75-200 meters, and one regular AM band) that change as controlled by the knob to the right of the big center knob. At the top left is a meter for carrier in R's and although it says Breting 12 on it like the volume indicator, it differs slightly in appearance from the other one. It has 12 tubes. This radio uses an external speaker.
