My name is Bård Leite, born in 1965 and I got my license in 1991.

My hometown in Norway is Haugesund, on the southwestern coast, but for the last couple of years I have been a student in Stavanger, a bit further south (studying church music). Anyway, living in a place with practically no possibilities for antennas and radios, my activity has been limited to a couple of hundres QSO's in some of the major contests each year. Hopefully this will change, especially now with the new sunspot cycle.

The eqiupment I have is a Yaesu FT890 and a Cushcraft R5 vertical antenna, so I need all the help I can get from the sun and the atmosphere - because in my opinion amateur radio = DX - or at least QSO's over some distance. If I want to speak to my neighbour I don't use radio.... I either phone him or visit him (well, maybe an e-mail from time to time....).
