FAQ about Leigh & Byron's full-time RVing lifestyle

What's all this about boondocking?

The term 'boondocking' refers to camping without benefit of utilities

such as electricity, water, telephones and ((((gasp!!!)))) internet service.

It's not that we don't HAVE these things when we're boondocking, but rather

that we are 'self-contained' and bring them with us, rather than purchasing them

where we're camped.

There are definite advantages to this ploy. First, we're free to camp where WE

want, rather than where the established, rule-ridden campgrounds would squeeze

us into. Thus, we can camp on the beach, in the depths of the forest, or

out in a meadow somewhere. We've done all of those things and consider

ourselves very fortunate for the experiences.

There's a fair amount of both complication and expense to boondocking and

it's probably accurate to say that it's always a work-in-progress, but if you'll

point your browser back one page and choose the 'How we do it' link, you'll

see how we're presently set up for boondocking
