After our lengthy (and wonderful) tour
of duty as Park Hosts at Brazos Bend
State Park, and after our summer of
2003 trip up through the Midwest,
we did a stint as managers at the

Shiloh RV Park in Richmond TX .

Then we discovered a real gem of a campground one day while wandering around between Houston and the Gulf of Mexico. It's a mini RV- resort.

No, not like the so-called "sardine city" resorts where you can't sneeze (or worse) without your neighbor hearing you, but instead, a truly gorgeous, well laid out farm, complete with a golf course, a number of ponds, a landing strip (for biplane crop dusters!) and -- of course -- RVs.

Wiggles and Sassy seem to be enjoying this park almost as much as Leigh & Byron. Part of the attraction appears to be the pond nearest the windmill water pump. While the other ponds are stocked with perch and catfish, this smaller pond can't be reached by the fish, thus allowing for the growth of the hugest bullfrogs we've ever seen.

Leigh has dubbed two of these giants as "George & Martha" ...

Not sure if you can tell by these pictures, but the RV sites are very large. It's all quite peaceful & quiet.

The owners have graciously allowed Byron to put up a dipole antenna for his ham radio gear, so the sounds of Morse code are again flitting through the RV.
