And -- oh yah!! -- a new monster truck!

In July, we had learned that our new Ford F650 tow vehicle had been finished up and was awaiting our arrival in Denver. So we tore down, hitched up, and moved on out, once again.
Here's what the new "toy" looks like. The motor is a 300hp Caterpillar diesel, with 860ft/lbs of torque.
Leigh wasted no time putting the "CAT DIESEL POWERED" and "RV USE ONLY" decals on the doors. But those decals sure don't help the miserable ride any. We desperately need to quickly put "air-ride" seats and a rear air-ride suspension on it.

Here's some shots of the Denver sunset, Castle Rock's "castle rock", and even one of two friends, Joe and JoAnn, whom we met a couple of years ago at the start of our adventure in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.
Unfortunately, once we arrived back in Lincoln NE, our new truck suffered a "bit" of a breakdown. All we knew at the outset was that one of the duallies was smoking up a storm. The smoke kept pouring out of that wheel for over half an hour AFTER we'd stopped!
It was at that point that we discovered that VERY few Ford dealers were even willing to let us bring the truck in for a diagnosis, never mind a repair. "We don't work on trucks that big" was the usual hogwash we got. Luckily, we found a tiny Ford dealer between Omaha and Lincoln who knew what to do and how to do it.
Suddenly, a job opened up in Connecticut, so we quickly ((((immediately!))) hit the road again. Above our some pix of a field in a CG that we stayed in, in Clinton CT, during the Labor Day weekend.
