Update! Here's some pictures that will make those of you in the Midwest (and Northeast) drool with envy. In case you're interested, it's hovering around 90 degrees on the beach down here this week (early October of 1999). Wiggles is swimming (as is Byron) and Leigh is sunning her freckles!

---------- The truly amazing thing about this area that we just can't get over is that -- unlike Cape Cod for example -- this is a resort area, except minus all the people! We've been the beach on Elephant Butte Lake six times now, and rarely, if ever, encounter another person. So Wiggles is free to run naked, even though we might not choose to do so ourselves!

The picture below is of Elephant Butte Lake in the distance, but with plenty of cacti in the foreground. Some dichotomy, eh?
