This site is dedicated primarily to the amateur radio hobby, and making that hobby the best it can be. although I have only been a ham since March 14,1998, I love the hobby
and am very passionate about its continued improvement. my favorite aspect of the amateur radio hobby is DX chasing, I really love the satisfaction I get from contacting a station half way around
the world, and enjoy the competition involved in seeking awards such as DXCC and even WAS. I know many of you share my passion for DX. I recently came across a web site that offered an online QSL
card service qslcard.com where QSL cards were exchanged via the Internet, I was elated. What a fantastic idea, no more stamps, no more envelopes, no more IRCs,
no more SASEs. I would save a fortune throughout the rest of my amateur days. WRONG! imagine my disappointment when I was advised that the electronic QSL cards were not considered valid proof of
a contact by ARRL. Wait a minute, I thought the ARRL was an organization which existed to make amateur radio the best it can be, and to actively pursue the best interest of its membership. I know
getting QSL cards back in a fraction of the time it takes now would be in our best interest, come to think of it so would saving the over $500.00 a year on having QSL cards printed. " full
color" not to mention the above mentioned expenses. Well this is why I decided to start and maintain this web site. on this site you will find a petition. " hidden under button marked
Petition" pleas take a few moments to fill it out. and rest assured the information you supply will be forwarded to the ARRL for the sole intent of showing support for the electronic QSL
acceptance. and will neither be given, sold, or distributed to any other person or organization. all of the fields on the petition form must be completed so ARRL can verify you are who you say you
are. less then ten questions, it will only take a minute. Thanks for your support. 73 |
